Genital Herpes or Supression

Genital herpes is an incredibly common sexually transmitted infection (STI) as it is easily spread and is caused by the herpes simplex virus. Once you’ve contracted herpes unfortunately there’s no way to cure it, but the condition can be effectively managed with the right treatment. People with herpes report experiencing between four and five outbreaks a year, and with this in mind we can deliver a range of options to help you manage the virus. A short course of one of our treatments can help reduce the length and discomfort of an outbreak, or you may want to consider taking a longer-term approach by supressing the virus with an extended course. We offer highly effective prescription genital and cold sore herpes treatments such as Acyclovir tablets (also known as Aciclovir) and Valaciclovir tablets.

Genital herpes is an extremely common STD which can be easily transmitted via sexual contact with a person who has the virus. The cause of this STD is herpes simplex virus 2. It can be transferred between those having anal, oral or vaginal intercourse. Our online treatment acyclovir is a highly effective treatment for those who have genital herpes. After an episode of symptoms, the virus can remain dormant in the nerves and then flair up weeks, months or even years after the initial outbreak. Our genital herpes treatment allows people to manage and control outbreaks of the virus.

Herpes simplex virus type 1 is the cause of cold sore herpes. It is most likely to break out on the lip area and flare ups often happen during times of anxiety or stress, or even being in the sun. Both acyclovir tablets and valaciclovir tablets can be used to treat cold sore herpes.

The use of acyclovir tablets to treat herpes is highly effective as it reduces the level of symptoms and treats them quicker. It can be used every day in order to supress the virus and stop any outbreaks occurring.

What is genital herpes?

Although genital herpes is normally due to type 2 herpes simplex virus and type one normally affects the face or lips, type 1 herpes is often found to be the cause of genital herpes due to more people having oral sex.

It can be very difficult to know if you have the herpes virus as often there are no signs or symptoms, or they are so minor that they are ignored. Unfortunately this can lead people to pass on the virus unknowingly to others. Many people have contracted the herpes virus through a partner who had no symptoms or outbreaks of the virus. The virus is carried from the surface of the skin and is therefore easy to catch on contact.

Symptoms of Genital Herpes

The main symptoms of genital herpes include itching, tingling, and red skin which then produces small sores and blisters which burst over a couple of weeks. After they burst, they can then turn into very sore ulcers. These can occur on any area of the genitals such as the vulva, within the vagina and under the foreskin in men. The blisters and ulcers can stay on the genitals for up to twenty days until healing, leaving no trace that they were ever there.

The initial herpes symptoms are normally the nastiest. Any outbreaks after this are normally less painful. The body is able to produce antibodies which work to fight further outbreaks that might occur in the future.

Reducing the risk of passing on herpes to others

Genital herpes is very contagious and therefore you should avoid having sex during an outbreak. However you can still shed the virus from your skin even when you are not having an outbreak of herpes and so there is still a small chance of passing on the infection. For this reason, it is a good idea to talk to your sexual partner about the risk. Using a condom can reduce the chances of passing on the virus, as can suppression therapy.
